Building Better Evidence for Africa’s Pastoral Livestock Systems
The Regional Workshop on the Validation of the APMD Pastoral-Livestock Evidence Base will take place in Mombasa, Kenya, from 15–17 September 2026.
The workshop focuses on strengthening the evidence base surrounding pastoral livestock systems, with particular relevance to livestock mobility, pastoral livelihoods, market systems and the development of policies that respond to the realities of pastoral communities.
Reliable evidence is essential for developing practical approaches to livestock production, animal health and welfare, market access and sustainable pastoral development. Bringing stakeholders together to validate available evidence can help ensure that future interventions are informed by African realities and supported by credible information.
