Animal welfare refers to the physical and mental wellbeing of an animal, especially with regards to the conditions in which they live. We have put together a free e-learning course where you can learn all about animal welfare: what it is, what it means, and how you can bring about a better life experience for sentient beings.

What Can I Learn Through The Animal Welfare E-Learning Course?

In the course we discuss different animal welfare matters as well as the varying perspectives on these matters. You will learn key terms and the five freedoms of animal welfare. We discuss and bring awareness to how mankind is affecting life on earth and you will be introduced to different animal welfare organisations.

We also discuss domestic animals, farm animals, and wild animals. You will learn about the impact that socio-economics and lack of education has on domestic animals. We also discuss exotic pets and the effects of the exotic pet trade. You will read about issues pertaining to farmed animals, namely factory farming and the impact of traditional medicines, where animals are failed by the law, as well as what alternatives there are. The animal welfare e-learning course also has information on threats to all aquatic life and the wildlife trade: education, legislation, and using indigenous knowledge.

The course discusses global and local animal law, specifically issues such as exploitation, dated legislation, lack of respect for the law, and lack of capacity to implement it, in addition to lack of education. You will learn how to live more consciously to improve the wellbeing of sentient creatures and learn about the link between animal abuse and domestic violence.

The e-learning course is an informative call to action and you will learn how to make a difference in the lives of animals by becoming aware, raising awareness, lobbying for change or holding fundraisers for animal welfare organisations.
