One of the main challenges with animal wellbeing is that they are seen as “less than.” Less sentient, less capable, less worthy of a safe, playful life lived to its full term.

World Animal Day aims to raise animals’ standing thereby increasing the level of animal wellbeing around the globe and our own Tozie Zokufa is an ambassador of World Animal Day.

The Importance of Awareness

The actions of people and organisations directly – and significantly – impact animals’ lives and wellbeing. Therefore all people and organisations need to be made aware of animals’ sentient nature and their right to protection and consideration.

A key driver of change is bringing animal rights issues to light. World Animal Day embraces all animals and their individual needs in every nation. This greatly contributes to the development of a compassionate culture that brings legislative change and social advancement to the table through increasing awareness and education.

World Animal Day Impact

World Animal Day is instrumental in creating a world where the wellbeing of animals is always given the utmost consideration and where they are acknowledged as sentient creatures. The significance of this day will only increase and has already made a substantial, long-lasting contribution to raising animal wellbeing standards.

There are many events held in honour of World Animal Day from pet shelter open days to educational seminars to fundraisers, peaceful protests, and more. In order to truly bring about social change and actionable equality for animals, people need to be educated on animals’ inherent right to said equality.

World Animal Day brings the global animal wellbeing movement together and creates a global force to improve the world for all animals. Together we can create a world where animal wellbeing is a constant area of observation, discussion, and action. A world where animals receive the protection, nourishment, and care that they deserve.
