The Quadripartite (FAO, UNEP, WHO and WOAH) and the One Health Summit: From Commitment to Action

On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, France will host the One Health Summit in Lyon. This summit marks a critical turning point as the world moves from political pledges to concrete, science-based results in safeguarding the health of humans, animals, plants, and our shared environment.

In a global landscape defined by interconnected climate and ecological challenges, the One Health approach is the only path toward resilience. For the first time, this summit will unite Heads of State and Government with international organizations, private sector leaders, and civil society to accelerate the One Health Joint Plan of Action (2022-2026).

  • Zoonotic Reservoirs: Preventing spillover at the human-animal interface.

  • Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR): Addressing one of the greatest threats to modern medicine.

  • Sustainable Food Systems: Ensuring food security and safety across the value chain.

  • Pollution & Environment: Mitigating health risks from environmental degradation.
